April Freedom

A little more than a week into my joblessness. I haven't done as much as I thought I'd get done by now, but still making headway. My trip to the Northwest Percussion Festival is Friday, and is going to be one long-ass weekend with a bunch of college boys (+one other girl). They are all mostly freshmen and sophomores, with only a few people my age-ish, who can actually go out drinking after a long day of drumming (sigh!). But it should still be awesome. I'm stoked at how excited they all are to be playing the African marimba songs I've been teaching them.

I used to be in the percussion ensemble, and after graduating, my instructor asked me to come back and teach the songs I know. It's a lot of fun, and lets me keep playing with them without having to pay for the class. It's also sweet that my instructor is paying my way on this trip :D With hotel and food covered, it's actually cheaper for me to go on this road trip than to not.

Saw a post on craiglist for a job I might be interested in. Wine tasting room associate. Part-time too, so it'd be a good transition for me, and would still let me tend to my adventures. I told myself I'd get out of hospitality, but  wine has always interested me. Going to write a cover letter, dress up, and drop off a resume tomorrow.

Meanwhile, for your entertainment, I've found this awesome video. Not anything I could possibly do in this life, but it's fun to dream.

Gotta love the Bob Marley dubstep remix too, haha.
